This Summer we had the pleasure of working with some of Sussex ‘s finest wedding suppliers, on our very own festival inspired photoshoot. Set in the dreamy Ashdown Forest, we spent a day in June, creating this set of photographs. Hope you like them! xx
With the help of Olivia, our model, and a collection of colourful props, our finished aesthetic was bright and bohemian. We collected bold, coloured crockery and glassware to set the scene. These pops of colour, beautifully complimented the lushious blooms that were popped into vintage bottles, jugs and vases. The table was laid with bone-handled cutlery, vintage champagne glasses and shiny brass candlesticks. Claire Gould at Calligraphy For Weddings supplied some sumptuous calligraphy stationery for the styled table.
We’ve worked with Roberta, The Good Florist, before at the wedding of Carina & Jay, back in November last year. You can see this wedding here: http://paperandprimrose.com/galleries/carina-jay/
We instantly fell in love with her work, and with a shared aesthetic, we were keen to collaborate once more. On the day, Roberta used lilac bubble roses for the shoot, with David Austin Juliette Roses, Peonies, Hazel, black ball cornflowers, digitalis, variegated pittosporum, blueberries and foliage from the garden. The flowers were locally sourced by Roberta, who says:
“There are so many amazing flowers grown in Britain and they add a true realness to the day.If you want flowers that smell like flowers and look really natural, talk to your florist about sourcing locally. There is always something in season, regardless what time of year you get married”
Ellie, from Bunston Bakes, a local Brighton supplier, provided us with some amazing cakes for the shoot. THREE whole wedding cakes came to the shoot, all ready to be styled by Roberta.
To create a laid-back vibe, we dressed our model Olivia in the gorgeous McKenna dress by Leanne Marshall, supplied by our friends at Heart Aflutter Bridal Boutique in London. The simple, floating gown perfectly matched the carefree, festival look – which we finished off with a floral crown and bare feet.
Many thanks to all the wonderful people that worked on this shoot with us! xx
