As the nights draw in, and the days are getting chillier, our thoughts turn to Winter and all of those beautiful wintery weddings that we’ve been lucky to work on.
These photographs are from a collection that we produced recently, with some of our favourite local Sussex wedding industry folk! We took inspiration from a moodboard of soft pinks and greys, wanting to capture the dreamier, softer side of Winter. The scene was set in (The Good Florist) Roberta’s gorgeous Sussex farmhouse, and amongst the beautiful surrounding Sussex heathland.
Gold cutlery, brass candlesticks, vintage champagne glasses, and abundant greenery were laid onto the wedding table. We included little touches like quails eggs, chunks of crystals and succulents, to add a bohemian flourish. The table was adorned with deer skins and antlers; a nod to the Ashdown Forest, which was a royal hunting park in the thirteenth century.
Our fabulous two tiered cement grey wedding cake was provided by Ellie at Bunston Bakes, which Roberta then dressed simple with firs and succulents.
The pretty place cards and wedding stationery was lovingly created by Claire at ‘By Moon And Tide Calligraphy’. Her work is unbelievably beautiful.
And so onto the dress…! Our model Olivia wore the divine Paloma Dress by Elizabeth Dye – loaned to us by longtime collaborators, Heart Aflutter Bridal Boutique in London.
The make-up was kept light and fresh. Olivia’s hair was arranged with a crown of soft braids, to create a relaxed and pretty country style, to finish off the ethereal style.
Top work from Liz at Simply Beautiful Wedding Hair, and Ellie Gill at The Beauty Aisle. We loved this look.
With flowing layers of soft pink taffeta and delicate lace, the dress was a perfect contrast to the rugged outdoors.
As is the joy with working with the English weather, we were dodging the rain clouds all afternoon but the stormy skies actually ended up complimenting the romantic look to the photoshoot. The wild terrain gave the photographs a rugged backdrop, and created a nice juxtaposition to our model’s delicate look.
Who says Winter weddings can’t be just as beautiful as Summertime ones?! We loved working on this shoot. Thank you to everyone who was involved!
